obama-rama

obama, clinton and mccain were all in town this week.

hillary drew a crowd of 5000 when she spoke thursday night. i made my way to key arena at lunch time on friday to hear barack obama only to find out he had filled the 17000 seat stadium beyond capacity. amazing.

and then i went to my first caucus today.

it was chaos. but it was great.

the event was in a church basement for three separate precincts. and it was packed. we all signed up and noted our candidate choice. and then we broke up into our precincts and voiced our opinions to sway the undecideds- of which there were none in my precinct. i met some of my neighbors. i signed up to be a neighborhood volunteer. i volunteered to be the secretary. i took notes. i was elected to be a delegate for obama.

the numbers for the caucus were at a record high, and my reason for being there was the same as a majority of the people. obama has inspired a nation. apathy is no longer an option. it was inspiring to see the community coming together to be a part of history, and i whole-heartedly support the man leading the way.

if your primary or caucus is still to come, please be sure to vote. i support obama. but regardless of who you support, its important that ultimately we are united for change.
